individualized, client-centered representation for criminal defense and civil rights
From the beginning of my legal career, my focus has been on defending the rights of the residents of New York City.
After graduating from Fordham Law School, and clerking for Hon. Joette Katz on the Connecticut State Supreme Court, I spent over a decade as a public defender in the Bronx. In that time I saw the disproportional effects of targeted law enforcement on communities and the individuals living there, and fought for justice for thousands of clients. By incorporating civil rights litigation into my practice, I am able to win compensation for the damage inflicted on these same individuals and communities by the police and other state actors.
I believe strongly in listening to my clients and fighting for them in the most effective way possible, while communicating openly about the legal process.
